OM&M and LTM at the Former NWIRP Bethpage, NY – NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic
KGS performs Operation, Maintenance, and Monitoring (OM&M) of the GM-38 Area Groundwater Treatment Plant (GWTP); semi-annual groundwater Long-Term Monitoring (LTM) and reporting; and treatment plant optimization at the former Naval Industrial Reserve Plant (NWIRP) Bethpage. In 2021, KGS worked with the Navy’s RAC contractor to integrate a new extraction well (RW-4) into the groundwater recovery well network. We also worked closely with the Navy’s RAC contractor to integrate an Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) into the treatment process for the removal of 1,4- dioxane, which is a newly regulated constituent at the site.
